Our Management Team have extensive experience in a variety of care roles - from social work, nursing, residential care and specialist backgrounds.

Nick Farmer, Managing Director

Nick has over 23 years experience of working in health and social care in the for-profit and not-for-profit charitable sectors as well as the NHS.

He joined Southern Cross Healthcare in July 2007 as Managing Director, East and Wales division and in June 2008 was appointed Managing Director of Active Care Partnerships. Prior to joining Southern Cross he was Director of Care UK plc's mental health business and latterly Chief Executive of Aermid Healthcare plc.

Nick is a Registered Mental Nurse by profession spending his early career working within high secure forensic services. His professional nursing qualifications and managerial experience is supported by MA (Management) and a Master's in Business Administration.

Mike Keighley, Operations Director South

Mike has worked in the Care industry for the last 18 years having experience in voluntary, private and statutory services provision for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Elderly, Children & Adolescents and specialist services including Dementia and Forensic.

Mike qualified as a Registered Nurse in Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, became a Trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and is a member of the Institute of Directors. He has held senior management posts in both Business Development and Operations for the past 7 years.

He is totally committed to the provision of high quality care and the required leadership and development of staff necessary to achieve this.

Angela Forster, Operations Director North

Angela has over 34 years of experience working in health and social care in the for-profit sector as well as the NHS. She joined Southern Cross in February 2008 as Operations Manager for Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire Region in the East and Wales Division and was appointed as Operations Director of Active Care Northern Region in August 2008.

Prior to joining Southern Cross Angela was Regional Manager for the mental health business of Care UK and latterly Director of Care for Aermid Healthcare.

Angela is a Registered Mental Nurse by profession spending her early career with severely acutely psychotic individuals with extreme challenging behaviour.
