Welcome to Murley House Care Centre

Murley House Care Centre can be found just minutes from the town centre of Taunton in Somerset. With 105 individual en-suite bedrooms, the centre is equipped to provide residential, nursing and dementia care. We also offer respite care where short-term convalescence is necessary.

Services & Activities

Murley House is close to Taunton railway Station and enjoys a regular bus service to and from town. There are three large lounge and dinning areas, one day lounge, and one separate dinning room. The centre also has pleasant lawn gardens, a patio and internal courtyard area as well as several lifts.

Our activities co-ordinator offers a variety of structured pursuits for service users to take advantage of. These include regular outings to local attractions, concerts, raffles, coffee mornings and many other enjoyable pastimes including reminiscence. We have a services user’s mini-bus allocated to the centre, which makes it possible for us to organise outings on a regular basis.

Celebrations

Service Users at Murley House regularly have friends and family join us to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions. The centre boasts an excellent French chef who can create a tantalising buffet selection and celebratory cakes. The talents of our catering team also enable us to offer a varied and appetising menu on a daily basis and we will gladly cater for all specialist diets.

Your Home

During your time at Murley House we want you to feel relaxed, safe and comfortable. We support service users by helping them to customise their individual rooms with personal belongings and furniture. Furthermore, it has been proven that use of colour, orientation aids and sensory equipment can help to enhance the lives of people with dementia. Several areas within the home have been designed with this research in mind; one example is the individually painted bedroom doors.

We operate an open door policy for friends and relatives at Murley House, as we understand that it is important to be able to pop in at any time. We encourage service users to go on outings with friends and we will offer assistance with mobility where possible. We are happy to accommodate friends and relatives if they decide to visit during meal times. This is your home, anything else you require to help you settle in, please feel free to let us know.
