Welcome to Murrayfield House Care Centre

This beautiful Georgian House is just a five minute journey from Edinburgh city centre. We provide care services for older people with physical frailty and severe to mild dementia.

With 96 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, 11 day rooms and 5 dining rooms. Murrayfield House Care Centre is an extremely comfortable home surrounded by substantial landscaped gardens. Many of our service users enjoy the view of the grounds from the conservatory while having their morning coffee and newspapers.

Murrayfield originally opened in 1991 and within five years the centre had become so successful that it was necessary to expand the facility. It now consists of the original Georgian building, and a more modern purpose built extension as featured below.

The elegance of the impressive grounds around the centre resonates in the decor of our communal relaxation and dining rooms.

Services & Activities

We also enjoy a variety of events and activities which involve participation by service users and staff members. One of our latest treats was an afternoon prize giving ceremony with our sponsors from St Columbas Golf Club and Coltbridge Bowling Club. The tournament was a fantastic success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.

Celebrations

Over the festive period service users will be enjoying an assortment of entertainment and seasonal delights. Our charity Christmas fair was held recently with all proceeds going to a charity selected by the community of Murrayfield House. We will also be treated to an array of Christmas lunches, concerts and parties and as usual a great time will be had by all!

Your Home

Each of the service users who enter our community at Murrayfield has different tastes and hobbies. We are keen for people to preserve their individuality and feel relaxed in their surroundings. It is therefore our policy to encourage service users to personalise their home with their own private belongings. We also actively encourage friends and family to visit regularly and we will happily hold private functions within the centre for special family occasions.
