PRESS RELEASE 24th October 2008 - VIP’s Visit Lomond Court
Lomond Court Care Centre in Glenrothes played host to some very special guests recently. The care centre received a phone call on Friday 10th October asking if Nicola Sturgeon, the Health Secretary for Scotland, could visit the centre along with some colleagues.
And so, on the afternoon of Saturday 11th October, staff and residents welcomed the Health Secretary, with Ross Vetriano (a local MSP for Woodside) and Peter Grant (Councillor for Glenrothes) for afternoon tea.
The VIP guests enjoyed a tour of the home including the newly developed sensory garden and took time to join residents for tea in the upstairs lounge. The visitors spent time talking with residents and staff. The Deputy First Minister was impressed with a Halloween poster being created by resident Jeannie Nelson and Carer, Gemma Adam for the centre’s upcoming Halloween Party.
Everyone at Lomond Court had a lovely afternoon and enjoyed playing host to such public figures. Lomond Court is a purpose built care centre on the east side of Glenrothes which provides nursing, social and personal care for elderly people suffering with dementia.
